September 23rd 2017
Preparations for the 2017 Prairie Dell Shootout are well under way. We have ten challenging stages that have been approved, and we are actively soliciting potential match sponsors. Like last year, our goal that all who come shoot with us have a 1/20 chance to win a gun in the door prize drawing. The 2016 match yielded 1/8.5 odds. This may be a hard number to duplicate, but we are trying!
Hotel Accommodations:
We have, again this year, made arrangements with the Hampton Inn in Litchfield, IL. They have graciously offered us a match rate of $89 per night. You can make your reservations by clicking here.
Match Sponsors: These are both local and national companies that support our sport as well as our local club. Please favor them with your business whenever possible!!!!!
The Sportsmans Choice, Litchfield, Il 217-324-1911 – The owner of the SC has been a sponsor if the Illinois State IDPA match as well as the Prairie Dell Shootout ever year they have been held in this area. Jeff Harbough (the owner) is not just a gun shop, but a fellow shooter. Each year he not only transfers firearms for winners, he brings guns to the prize table. He plays an important part in the success of the prize table.
Piasa Armory, Alton, Illinois 618-433-2715 – The owner, Scott Polaski, is relatively new to the gun business. But over the past several years has been building a fist class gun shop in Alton. He is currently on the cusp of opening his new indoor range at his facility, and we have a match director on the hook to establish an IDPA affiliate there within the year. Like the Sportsmans Choice, Piasa Armory is also bringing a great deal of support to the prize table. Scott is also very active with the local Boy Scouts, you’ll see him at our event interacting on many different levels.
Mech Tech Systems – Has signed on to be a stage sponsor of this years match. While they have been around for nearly 20 years, they have recently been gaining popularity with competitive shooters. It seems their carbine conversion unit for the Glock platform is the most popular, however you will find that their products will accommodate many different manufacturers. We are very excited to be working with them to introduce all of you to this great company, and their great product. You can check out the hickok45 review by clicking here.
Polymer80 – Signed on in early June as stage sponsor. These guys make and sell an 80% Glock style lower that comes with all the tooling necessary (except the drill press) to build your own homemade gun. Tad has built several of them. They will have a brand new design coming our in August this year. This is what will be available to a lucky few at the match!!!! Check out the video here.
Farm & Home Supply – These guys have been great. If you have never been to a Farm & Home Store, you should go!. My personal philosophy is that “if you can’t find it under their roof, you can live without it!” F&M has everything! A visit the their store, you will se things you remember from your youth and thought they didn’t make anymore. The only place locally, I know of, that you can still buy bib overalls. ……and with that, I have an idea for a stage!
The Village Drive Inn – Jeff & Becky Johnson own and operate this favorite summer business located here in Bunker Hill. They are big supports of the 2nd amendment and always stand ready to support anything we do at BSP!. Please stop in and say thanks by buying a cone or shake while your in town!!!!
